Photographs, [ca.1890-1960]

Consists largely of photographs, mostly undated and unidentified. Also included are a few negatives, clippings, invitations, and an autograph album. Photos consist of a few family photos, ca.1890-1900; photos of Abelman at various dinners, meetings, and presentations; photos of Abelman with Harry D. Gideonse, President of Brooklyn College, and with various prominent, mostly political, figures including Wendell Willkie, George Marshall, John Cashmore (Brooklyn Borough President), Gov. Dewey, Abe Stark (also a Brooklyn Borough President), and Albert Einstein (in bathrobe and slippers). Also included are a small photo album with an invitation and some photos documenting "Jewish Home and Hospital Reception and Tea for Max Abelman who will be presented by the University of Manila with a Special Diploma of Honor for his humanitarian activities." The diploma was presented by General Carlos Romulo, Philippines Ambassador to the United States, and past president to the United Nations General Assembly, 1957. Also includes a few wedding photos, and an invitation to the wedding of Marie Antoinette Abbey and Armand Tokatyan, a tenor in the Metropolitan Opera Company.
